Welcome to our modern apartment (99.2 m2), that was furnished and decorated keeping in mind your comfort and well-being! Among other things, we paid special attention to the mattresses as we consider a good night's sleep one of the main requirements for a pleasant stay.

This first-floor apartment, located in the heart of the ‘magic’ city of Tavira, is part of the small complex named ‘Horta Poço do Bispo’. Its contemporary courtyard extends the line of sight from the apartment to the swimming pool and rural architecture. In the courtyard, there is also a children’s playground. 

The apartment is 3 minutes’ walk (literally) from the access to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, and to the market where every morning the fishermen deliver their catch. It is also 3 minutes’ walk from the boat to Tavira Island. The latest has an endless golden sandy beach (the best kept secret of the Algarve).


About Tavira

Tavira is a picturesque, quiet and ancient Moorish town (10,000 inhabitants) with about 30 churches, the ruins of a medieval castle with a fragrant garden, cosy squares, graceful river front blooming gardens (throughout the whole year) and beautiful mansions.

The wide river Gilão divides the city into two. On its shores, you will find terraces where you can enjoy the view of this idyllic town that kept its original charm over the centuries.

On the coast, there is a salt marsh that, together with the river Gilão and the island, form the protected nature Ria Formosa.

Tavira is a paradise for lovers of beautiful historic cities, clear blue sea, wide beaches, fresh seafood, nature walks, bird watching, golf and horse riding.

And last but not least: Tavira, in contrast to many places in the Algarve, hasn’t a turbulent and noisy nightlife, neither has it mass tourism. It is therefore an eminently suitable resort for those seeking peace and beauty.


The apartment on the first-floor has:  

• one sleeping-room (14 m2) with a double bed a crib, a built-in wardrobe and small balcony overlooking a quiet square with the sound of birds

• one sleeping room (14.8 m2) with two single beds and built-in wardrobe, overlooking the same square as above mentioned

• one living room (36.7 m2) with a table and six chairs, four-seat sofa-bed for 1 person, two leather butterfly chairs and one single bed and a TV

• one fully equipped kitchen (10.4 m2) with the necessary accessories for 6 persons

• one bathroom (5.4 m2) with shower (140 * 90 cm) and support bar for the elderly

• one sunny balcony (12 m2) overlooking the garden and the pool

Complimentary bicycles (free of charge, 1 male and 1 female bike) from the 1st of October until the 15th of June.

For a stay, longer then 10 nights it is mandatory the change of bed linen and towels every 7 nights. The fee for this change is already included in the total rental price.


Cleaning fee for a rental longer then 7 nights

Any additional service, such as the cleaning of the apartment during the stay, may be granted at the guest charge of € 10,00 per hour.


Services not included in rental price

From the 15th of June until the 30th of September: collection and return to Faro airport on request at the total extra cost of € 110,00 (€ 55,00 per trip) paid on arrival.

If collection service from the airport to the apartment occurs during daylight hours, the administrators kindly show you some places of interest in Tavira.

From the 1st of October until the 15th of June: collection and return to Faro airport on request at the total extra cost of € 90,00 (€ 45,00 per trip) paid on arrival.

Collection and return to Tavira Train Station can be arranged at the total price of € 10,00 (€ 5,00 per trip).

Menu on arrival: depending on the supermarket’s price list of the required food.

Bike rental (1 male and 1 female bike) from the 15th of June until the 30th of September.

The price is € 3.00 per day per bicycle.

The use of the apartment by more than the number of guests agreed upon at the time of booking must be reported in advance to the owner and to the managers of the apartment. An additional charge of € 15.00 per person and per night is due on top of the rent.

For stays less than 7 days a supplement of € 65.00 for cleaning costs will be charged.



Between 4 and 9 p.m.

€ 30,00 fee for later check-in than 9 pm, except if the guests are collected by us from the Airport.

Guests are kindly requested to confirm the exact time of arrival or of departure at least 48 hours before arrival at the apartment.

Smoking is only allowed on the balconies.



One or two pets are welcome in the apartment. However, it is absolutely not allowed to let them unsupervised in the apartment or in the semi-public areas of the building complex.

The owners must assume full responsibility for any damages or noise complaints the pets may cause in the apartment and in the semi-public areas of the building complex.

Moreover, the pets must not cause nuisance to other residents.


Facilities at 3 to 5 minutes walking from the apartment

Fish, meat and vegetable market at 3 minutes’ walk, as well as outdoor cafes, restaurants, terraces on the water (Gilão River), bakery, ATM, banks, laundry, hairdresser, supermarkets, and all sorts of other shops.

Outdoor-market (not especially for tourists) with shoes, textiles, baskets, Portuguese ceramics, leather goods and other utensils: every third Saturday of the month, from 8:30 AM until 1:00 PM.


Beach access

Beach access by boat to Tavira Island (throughout the whole year) at 3 minutes’ walk from the apartment. Price per trip: € 2,00.

Tavira Island is also accessible off-season from the pier at Quatro Águas, 1 km from the apartment.


Activities in the centre and surroundings of Tavira

Outdoor concerts, museums, typical rural architecture, (guided) hiking and guided horseback, biking, golf, bowling, fishing, boat tours arranged within the nature resort ‘Ria Formosa’, as well as tours of double canoes, pedal boating, skiing, surfing and windsurf biking/boards on the Island of Tavira.

Shopping mall ‘Continente’ 1 km from the apartment.


Number and identity of guests

The apartment must only be used to accommodate the number of guests stated on your booking confirmation.

In case you wish to have additional guests overnight you are kindly requested to inform the owner before they arrive.

The fee for each additional guest is € 15,00 per night per person. It also includes children older then 2 years of age. Babies only pay a total rental fee of € 10,00 per person.

Charges for additional guests have to be paid by bank transfer before they enter the apartment unless an alternative agreement has been reached between the client and the owner.

Should the maximum occupancy be exceeded, without a previous owner/manager knowledge, guests will be asked to leave / vacate the apartment immediately without being entitled to a refund.

Maximum occupancy must be adhered to at all times and includes children of all ages.


Conduct in the apartment

Keeping parties and other activities, which can cause noise and other nuisance to the well-being of other residents of the building, are not allowed.

In case of violation, the owner/manager keeps the right to deny the guests access to the apartment. In this case the guests will also not be entitled to a refund.


Cleaning and check out

Before leaving the apartment we kindly request you to:

– return furniture to original locations;

– wash and put away all dishes including those in dishwasher;

– remove all trash from home;

– place trash in sealed plastic bags in the proper receptacle at the street in front of the apartment;

 – the carpet and floors are to be cleaned of excessive debris.

Failure to complete the above will result in extra charges that will be deducted from the security deposit.
