Winter vacationing in Greece

Greece is located in the south-east of Europe and is known for its many islands, approximately 1500, of which only 160 are inhabited. Each island is unique and has its own atmosphere and aura; the most well-known are: Corfu, Crete, Kos, Rhodes and Mykonos.

Greece has, as we all know, a rich history and culture with many traditions. The impressive and surprising remains of Ancient Greece are very important for the country and even more interesting for those who love culture.
Greece has a pleasant climate, the winters are gentle with a heavy rain shower here and there which is over as soon as it begins.  The sun shines here 300 days a year and so it isn’t strange that the Greeks are such kind and cheerful people.
Combined with the climate, Greece is well worth a visit for a winter vacationer to see the famous attractions such as the Temple of Apollo Epicurius in Bassae, the archeological site Delphi, the Acropolis in Athens, Mount Athos, the Meteora convent and the archeological site Epidaurus.
