Below you will find a number of practical tips and suggestions for renting an accommodation and making your stay as pleasant as possible.
Rental prices
Always inquire of the owner / manager what is and is not included in the price. Generally, additional costs are charged on top op of the rental prices listed, such as: electricity / gas, local tourist taxes, use of linen and final cleaning.
Deposit
It is usually required to make a deposit. This sum will be returned to you when you check out. If you should cause any damage during your stay, the cost of repairs will be deducted from your deposit. Take care to directly report any damage you discover upon arrival to the letter or manager.
Discounts
For an extended stay you can inquire with the letter if he or she has special rental rates. Also think of a possible early booking discount. The seniors among you can ask for a senior discount.
Facilities in and around your accommodation
If you have chosen an accommodation, find a moment to inquire with the letter about the seasonal facilities, and which are open or closed. Some facilities are seasonal, after all. The disabled among you can inquire with the owner or manager if the accommodation is suitable for you.
Pets
If you have a pet you would like to bring and the letter has given you permission for it, do not forget the EU passport for your pet (mandatory as of 2004).
Insurance
It should not be necessary for us to advise you about your personal insurance; we assume you have made the proper insurance arrangements. We do wish to remind you to take out cancellation insurance, so that this risk is also insured when, for whatever reason, you cannot make it to your accommodation.
Booking When you have found an accommodation to your liking, do not wait too long before booking it, because the most popular winter destinations will be fully booked before you know it. So prevent disappointments and book on time.
